Embossing Logos

September 2021

Embossing our customer's logo is one of the most important steps in our manufacturing process. After many experiments with different metals we now only use solid brass blocking dies, as they achieve the finest results. Our most skilled craftspeople will apply the perfect amount of pressure for the exact amount of time, to create a precise emboss; this is paramount to the success of a crisp logo emboss. Too little pressure and or seconds of application and the logo is spotted, too much of both and the foil bleeds creating a smudged look.

The process of foil blocking or foil stamping has gradually evolved from similar processes that were used hundreds of years ago. In the middle ages, monks beat gold into the surface of leather bound books. This was the earliest form of leather embossing and was widespread until the start of the 19th century.

It’s through the perfection of this craft and the developments in technology that enable us to emboss our customers' logos exquisitely!

We are often asked for various foil colours but from our experience coloured foils don't adhere as well to the leather, often cracking and forming in a 'patchy' way.

We want your product and your experience to be perfect and that's why we brand logos in either a; blind emboss, gold foil or silver foil.

Your branding, your product, your reputation. We make unforgettable gifts that stand the test of time.
